By downloading, installing, or using Rekorded ("the App") or accessing the website at rekorded.app ("the Website"), users agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If these Terms are not agreed to, the App or Website should not be used.

Rekorded App:

• A macOS menubar application for audio recording
• Records system audio, microphone, or both
• Processes all audio data locally on your Mac
• Requires macOS 15.0 or later

3. License and Usage Rights

App License:

Subject to compliance with these Terms, a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license is granted to download, install, and use Rekorded on devices owned or controlled by the user for personal, commercial, or organizational use.

Restrictions:

• No reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly
• No redistribution or resale of the App
• No removal of copyright notices or proprietary markings

4. Mac App Store Terms

Rekorded is distributed through the Mac App Store. Your download and use of Rekorded is also subject to Apple's Mac App Store Terms of Service and Apple's Privacy Policy.

• Apple handles all payment processing and refunds
• Apple's standard return policy applies
• Apple may collect data related to your app usage as per their privacy policy
• Updates are delivered through the Mac App Store

5. Privacy and Data

Rekorded App:

• Collects no personal data or audio information
• All recordings remain on your Mac
• No network connections for data collection
• No analytics, telemetry, or tracking

6. System Requirements and Compatibility

Rekorded requires:

• macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or later
• Compatible with Apple Silicon and Intel Macs
• Microphone and screen recording permissions (system level)

Compatibility with future macOS versions is not guaranteed, though compatibility maintenance through updates is attempted when possible.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use Rekorded only for lawful purposes
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding audio recording and consent
• Maintain the security of your Mac and audio files
• Not attempt to circumvent any security measures
• Keep your copy of Rekorded up to date
• Not use Rekorded in any way that could harm the services or other users

Limitation of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, no liability is assumed for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

11. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. These Terms may be terminated at any time by deleting Rekorded from devices and ceasing use of the Website.

Access may be terminated or suspended immediately, without prior notice, if these Terms are breached or inappropriate conduct occurs.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Rekorded will be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

These Terms may be modified at any time. When changes are made, the "Last updated" date will be updated and revised Terms will be posted on the Website.

Continued use of Rekorded or the Website after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Rekorded may be subject to export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations in your use of Rekorded.
